一、該從句可由關系代詞引導：who(置代人，作主語)，whom(置代人，作賓語)，whose(置代人，作定語);which(置代物);that(置代人或物)。

Here is the man (whom) you‘ve been looking for.

這就是你一直在找的人。

He is the man (that) you can safely depend on.

他是一個你能放心信賴的人。

Do you know the man (that) she was talking to?

Do you know the man to whom she was talking?

和她談話的那個人你認識嗎?

The train which (that) has just left is for Sian.

剛開的那列火車是開往西安的。

This is the question (which或that) we‘ve had so much discussion about.

This is the question about which we‘ve had so much discussion.

這就是我們討論得那么多的問題。

(Is there)Anything (that) I can do for you?

有什么事(要我做)嗎?

This is the largest factory (that) I have ever seen.

這是我所見過的最大的一家工廠。

This was the first thing (that) I did this morning.

這是今天上午我做的第一件事情。

二、該從句還可由關系副詞引導：when(時間)，where(地點)，why(原因)

I shall never forget the days (when) we have been working together.

我將永遠也不會忘記我們在一起工作的日子。

I know of a place (where) we can swim.

我知道一個可以游泳的地方。

That is the reason (why) I did it.

這就是我這樣做的原因。

三、關系代詞與關系副詞替代問題。

有時關系代詞可與關系副詞替代：

Did you remember the years when (=in which) we had been working together?

你還記得我們曾在一起工作過的歲月嗎?

This was the room where (=in which) I studied yesterday.

這就是我昨天學習的房間。

有時關系代詞不能與關系副詞替換：

This is the place (where) we met yesterday.

這是我們昨天碰頭的地方。

This is the place (which) I‘ve long wanted to visit.

這是我長期以來想去的地方。
